BRIN BRIN CIGLENEČKI
athletics, pole vault

ABOUT ME
Brin Ciglenečki is a young Slovenian athlete from Ljubljana and a member of AD Kronos. His sports career began with ice hockey training, and then at the age of 10 he started to do athletics, where he quickly became interested in pole vaulting.
Under the guidance of coach Mateja Drobnič, he progressed quickly and at the age of 14 he jumped over 350 cm. After she left the club, coaches Jak Rogel (pole vault) and Jan Jamnik (general preparation) took over the reins, and under their guidance in 2023 he achieved a personal best of 480 cm at the national championship members’ competition. In the same year, he represented Slovenia at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), where he took 8th place, gaining invaluable experience at the Olympic Games.
Despite minor problems last season, Brin achieved a new personal best this year, jumping 500 cm, which allows him to compete at the U20 Balkan Indoor Championships and the U20 Balkan Outdoor Championships. His next goal is to jump 512 cm, which is the qualifying norm for the U20 European Championships. In addition to pole vaulting, he also occasionally competes in relays and all-around.
Brin is the AD Kronos club record holder in pole vaulting in all categories, and in 2023 he became the Kronos Youth Athlete of the Year.
He is also extremely proud of being nominated for the title of the best young athlete in Slovenia in the U18 category.
