ABOUT ME
Lena Trantura is a young Slovenian basketball player who is not only looking for points and victories in the game, but also for opportunities to grow, connect and surpass her own limits. Her greatest desire is to one day play at the top European level, but at the same time remain faithful to the values she has acquired through years of dedicated training – discipline, team spirit, perseverance and a positive approach. Her basketball journey began at the age of six at the Sani Bečirović Basketball School, and at the age of ten she joined the Žensko košarkarsko društvo Maribor, where she still plays today. As one of the team’s leading players, she stands out not only with her shooting efficiency, but also with her energy, fighting spirit and ability to maintain a positive mindset in difficult moments. During her thirteen years of playing basketball, she also trained in judo for two years, which helped her develop additional physical fitness and mental strength. However, her love for basketball was too strong for anything to distract her from the court. She has been the top scorer in her category for several years, and in recent seasons she has also been increasingly established in youth and member competition. In addition to basketball, Lena is also distinguished by her dedication to education – she is a student of the III. gimnazija Maribor, where she successfully combines sports and school. She proudly represents her school at national and international competitions and proves that top-notch sports and excellence in education can complement each other. In 2024, she wore the jersey of the Slovenian women’s national team for the second time and performed at the European Championship. For her achievements, she also received the title of Naj mladi up leta 2023, which was awarded to her by the Proelium Sports Agency – recognition of her perseverance, talent and unique spirit, which sets her apart from others.
In the game, not only technique is important, but also the heart. And Lena plays with her heart – for the team, for her dreams and for the future, which she writes with daily training and work in various areas directly related to sports.
